In that split second
That life bursts out
Welcome to the world baby girlWe all cry

In that split second
She takes the first step
Hurray we all shout
Though she’s bound to fall

In that split second
The first piece of meat she chews
This one is strong we say
Though there are bruises to come

In that split second
It’s the first drop of blood
She is now a woman
Be strong we tell her

In that split second
Her last ‘T’ is crossed
How did she grow up so fast?
Many split seconds passed

In that split second
This last deal has been signed
A boss lady is all she wanted to be
And now it’s here

In that split second
She just said her vows
It’s the beginning of another life
For her life has been joined

In that split second
When the key becomes keys
The house, the cars and all of that
The future is here now
Dreamt of it for so long

In that split second
Her nest gets full
With no second to spare
Children here and there

In that split second
That once full nest gets empty
Birds grow wings and fly
Isn’t that what it is?

In that split second
Lives are formed from lives formed
It’s the circle of life
Or at least that’s what I heard

In the final split second
She slips as quietly as she came
After a zillion split seconds
With many more that she’ll have

‘She’ is used here but of course the circle of Life has men and women, boys and girls in it. Remember the 10 years challenge? Before you know it, we’ll have another one and you’ll realise that another billion split seconds have passed and you may or may not have something substantial to show for it…
