Many people know me as I-solo. Though some pronounce it as Isolo (a part of Lagos). Got the name primarily because I love to sing solos.
I’m a pretty good singer too so many times, I get to sing the lead part in choir renditions, or any other group singing.
I used to be very shy while growing up but right now, I mostly assume an almost different personality on stage. I’ve purposed to not let shyness or whatever it is have the better part of me. Owning whatever stage I ever have to be on and all that comes with performance.
Right now, I’m not doing so bad or don’t you think so?
Some other times, I still have to sing, though not as I-solo. I am like every regular mostly not necessarily seen singer – a back-up vocalist.
As I would when I am the lead singer, I have to sing with all of me and be at my best. I gotta do all this knowing that though I’m not the face of the group, I’m playing an important part. Imagine harmony without alto 🥺 Believe me it’s not something you’d enjoy.
I am I-solo. I am Ifeoluwa too. Whatever role I have to play, I’ll play it like my life depended on it.
You should too.
Colossians 3:23 says ‘Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord and not for people.’
So whether you have to be under the spotlight or behind the backstage, do it heartily, giving glory to God.
