It was the morning of her graduation from the university. As she finished applying some mascara on her eye lashes,She blinked as she stared at her beautiful self in the full body-sized mirror she had in her apartment. She admired her well tailored striped pant suit ‘Yes’ she said to herself every bit of celebration was really worth it,

“ìrètí” her friend called “we’re getting late, we should be on our way now”.’One minute’ Ìrètí replied she looked at her self one last time in the mirror and put finishing touches on her make up. “I’m ready” she said to herself. Derin was already seated in the taxi waiting for her. She joined her in a moment and they took off.

As the driver eased into the traffic, she took out her diary and revised what she had on her itinerary. She, alongside other students will attend the ceremony and then have lunch with her friends. After lunch she had time to spend with the boys at the correctional facility. She sighed as she remembered her story, “it surely would bring hope to the boys” she thought to herself. Ìrètí shut her diary and close to live in the moment. The meeting would take care of itself.

The day went faster than she thought it would. They made it on time to the ceremony and were able to get a good seat. Derin’s parents and siblings were around so even though in some moments she was tempted to be weighed down by the absence of her own parents, those thoughts didn’t linger. It was the day that the Lord had made and she was going to rejoice. As the best graduating system in the faculty, she gave the valedictory speech and received a standing ovation when she was done Devin also had a very good result. The family had every reason to celebrate.

“Whew! I didn’t know time had passed so fast” said Ireti as she buckled her shoes. She had to be at the facility in 20 minutes. Thankfully, the taxi she ordered was waiting for her already. She entered and they began the trip.

The Director met her by the entrance and gave her a warm welcome. He reminded her of how they had been praying about this day and were really expectant. The meeting was going to commence right away….
